BASIC CARE GUIDE AND MAINTENANCE

Classic Timber Flooring is easy to keep clean; the surface is coated with at least four coats of UV cured lacquer which gives a smooth and easy to clean surface.

IMMEDIATE CARE
WEEKLY CARE
OCCASIONAL CARE
PERIODICAL CARE
Wipe up spillage or water at once with a damp cloth or soft sponge to keep away any mark left on the floor surface.
Regular vacuum or sweep the floor is needed to prevent accumulation of dirt, stain or grit that can scratch or dull the floor finish. Rub with a damp cloth occasionally as needed. Clean your Classic Timber Floor by using a mop or soft sponge together with a full bucket of warm water containing no more than 1/2 a cup of white or methylated spirits.

FLOOR PROTECTION HINTS

We recommend that all furniture should be fitted with felt pads to avoid scratches and dents. You may use either a steel shank or a self-adhesive type of felt pads. Keep a door mat both outside and inside to avoid getting in dirt and sand. For those areas where the wear is heavier or where you know that water os often spilled and there is a higher risk that the spill will be left, we recommend that you provide the floor with an additional coat of laquer following installation. We believe that by following the above hints, your Classic Timber Floor will be protected, preserved and beautified.

RECOATING SYSTEM

Classic Timber Floors are easy to keep clean and looking new, unlike vinyl or carpet, which tend to show age regardless of care. If after a period of time, normally in about 3 years time depending on the traffic, your Classic Timber Floor appears dull, it is time to consider restoring its beauty. We recommend calling a professional to apply a commercially recognised floor finish after light sand. The coating on our products is epoxy acrylate resin based UV cured.

PREPARATION WHILE YOUR FLOOR IS NEW

- Since timber varies in color due to the natural reaction with the light, a result of color variation may occur between covered and uncovered areas with rugs, mats or similar.

- Area mats or rugs should be used where heavy traffic occurs to make long term maintenance easier.

- By using door mat at the entrance of you home, your floor can be protected against abrasive dust or dirt. It will also minimize the workload of unnecessary clean up.

- Heavy furniture and appliances should be moved into place by sliding them slowly over the floor on a piece of carpet turned face down. This can minimise damage from scratching and denting.

PREVENTION RATHER THAN CURE

Unlike other engineered floorings, Classic Timber Floors should be treated as natural solid timber strip but with a contemporary pre-coated system. Though Classic Timber Floors are made tough, they are not indestructible. With proper care and maintenance your new floor will give you years of service and enjoyment while retaining and preserving its natural beauty.

*** Please note- Classic Timber Flooring is not recommended for the use of wet areas or areas where radiant sub-floor heating has been installed.

LONG-TERM MAINTENANCE

- Do not use conditioner or acrylic wax.
- Do not use steel wool on the floor.
- Do not use soap or detergent on the floor.
- Do not apply any washing up chemical on the floor.
- Do not pour water directly on the floor.
- Do not use ammonia or abrasive cleaners.
- Do not wax.
